Mike Mayhall: Emmy-Nominated Director on Bronx SIU and More [Exclusive Interview]

Mike Mayhall was surprised to hear that he is nominated for an Emmy.

The director is nominated for the 2020 Emmy Award for Best Director for Hit Series for the show Bronx SIU on the Urban Movie Channel. The final award winners will be revealed tonight.

Bronx SIU is an American television series focused on an elite task force, based out of The Bronx. The division handles New York City’s most demanding and challenging cases. It premiered in 2018 and renewed for a second season.

Additionally, Mayhall directed another series A House Divided on the Urban Movie Channel. The television drama deals with the loss of the family’s death of a matriarch as a variety of secrets and scandals are uncovered.

LRM Online spoke with Mayhall on Zoom earlier this week to talk about his directing projects of both Bronx SIU and A House Divided. We discussed his directing approaches and the secrets of the shows’ successes. We also briefly touched upon his acting side with the recent cult horror movie hit Dinner Party, and his upcoming role in Bill & Ted Face the Music.

Bronx SIU and A House Divided are currently streaming on the Urban Movie Channel. Dinner Party is now available on video on demand. As for anticipated Bill & Ted Face the Music, the movie is scheduled for a theatrical release date in the fall pending pandemic situation.
