Jurassic World: Dominion Brings Back Another Classic Jurassic Park Character

“Dodgson! Dodgson! We got Dodgson here!” Unlike in the meeting with Wayne Knight’s Dennis Nerdy in 1993’s Jurassic Park, today we may care a little. According to Collider, actor Campbell Scott has joined the cast of Jurassic World: Dominion. If you recall he is the one that bribes Nerdy and gives him the fake can of Barbasol shaving cream to steal Jurassic Park’s dinosaur embryos. Unfortunately, we know that the canister never made it off the island thanks to a Dilophosaurus. In the book written by Michael Crichton, Dr. Lewis Dodgson was the head of product development at a rival InGen company called BioSyn.

For the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion film, we find Dodgson as CEO of Biosyn Genetics. For the moment it’s unclear if his character will be the main villain of the film. Cameron Thor played the original Dodgson in Jurassic Park. Sadly, Thor is currently a convicted sex offender and had to be recast.

Dodgson’s character is not the only one returning. In this third film of the Jurassic World franchise we will see other fan favorites like Dr. Alan Grant, played by Sam Neill, Dr. Ellie Sattler, played by Laura Dern, Mr. “life finds a way himself” Dr. Ian Malcolm. They will be joining the cast that includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Justice Smith, and Daniella Pineda. New cast members include Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, and Dichen Lachman.

As a huge fan of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise, I am excited to see this next film with some of the original cast members. I was a little let down with the direction of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. I look forward to seeing what they have in store with this film.
